Why Jesus?

John 3:16
‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’ (John 3:16, KJV)

Why Jesus?
Why did God give his only son?
It is because the world will perish without Him. Remember that the world is the people not the things. Which means the people will perish without a saviour. Whether the world knows or not, there is a something called ‘perish’. But why will the world perish? Let’s have a look at these scriptures? Rom 3:23 says ‘For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God’. Sin is transgression of the laws of God. Aware or not, we sometimes break God’s law without knowing, similar to the unknown consequences of an innocuous fall. For instance have you lied or stolen before? Been disobedient to your parents or guardians before? Had sex before marriage? The list goes on. All these are things that God has said we should not do but we are all guilty of. So you see my friends, we are all guilty of God’s judgement because the bible says in Rom 3:10-13 ‘As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one’ and the bible says the payment for our transgressions is death or perishing.
What does it mean? It means eternal separation from God in a place where there is no life but in the presence of the devil and his angels and I don’t think anyone wants to be there. Jesus said in Matt 25:45’ Then He will say to those at His left hand, Begone from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels’.
This is the condition of man and bible says ‘When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners’. Rom 5:6.
God knows our end and that why he sent Jesus to come and die for the sins of mankind. He took our sins and paid the price for us because we could not, and cannot pay for our sins. The payment for sin is blood and by that, I means a HOLY BLOOD. Just like we need soap and water to wash our clothes when they are dirty, we need a holy blood to wash our souls when we sin. Unfortunately, we cannot see sin over our bodies but they are all over our souls. What can wash our sins away so that one day when you come out from your body your spiritual clothes will be clean? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Why the blood? This will be discussed in the next blog.

Today, will you like to ask the Lord to wash your heart with his blood?

A prayer like this might help:
Lord Jesus, you love me and took my sins and paid the price for me. Please forgive me for all my wrong choices, be the Lord of my heart and help to make the right choices. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and help me to live for you. Amen 🙏
