John 3:16… cont

World English Bible
According to the law, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission. Heb 9:22

Amplified Bible
He went once for all into the Holy Place [the Holy of Holies of heaven, into the presence of God], and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, having obtained and secured eternal redemption [that is, the salvation of all who personally believe in Him as Savior]. Heb 9:12

New Living Translation
‘For the life of the body is in its blood. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making you right with the LORD. It is the blood, given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible.’ Lev 17:11

I remember as a young Christian, I was learning about why Jesus shed his blood and I remember saying that it was difficult to understand and I remember the Holy Spirit telling me that if I wanted to learn, he will teach me and that is exactly what He did.
Why the blood ? God has made an eternal law that blood cleanses us from sin. Why blood? Because life is in our blood and that is why sometimes, people die when there is an accident and they lose a lot of blood or during surgery. When someone dies, it means life has left the body. For the person to come back to life, life must be put back into the person. When we sinned against God in the garden, we died. Remember what God said? Gen 2:17 ‘ But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.’ What it means is that sin kills and the bible says for all have sinned that means we are all spiritually dead to God and that is why we need life to become alive unto God. Life is in the blood; so for us to get life, we need sinless holy blood to be shed for us to receive the life in it. In the Old Testament, the blood of goats and bulls were used to cleanse man from sin; but the life of an animal and the life of humans are not the same so the blood of animals could not remove sin but it covered it. So for man to be forgiven for his sins we needed a human who was holy to pay for the punishment of sin and no one could die for us here on earth since all have sinned. Jesus therefore came purposely to die in our place, and to give his life that was why his blood was shed. John 1:29 says ‘The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.’
Remember the scripture that says the wages of sin is death? Yea, Christ paid for the wages of our sin and also gave us life at the same time. A life for a life. As a payment for our sins, as an exchange for us.

Do you know that when Jesus died on the cross, our sin was transferred to him? He became sin, and God separated from him? Matt 27:46 says’ At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” NLT

Bible says Christ died for our sins, the just for the unjust so that he might bring us back to God. 1 Peter 3:18 ‘ For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:”
After paying for the punishment, he also had to give us life and that life was in his blood. Bible says in him was life and the life of the light of man John 1:4 and 1 John 5:12 says he that has the son has life ( eternal life, the life of God) which means when you come out of your body one day, your spirit will be with God who is eternal life. When you don’t have life in you when you die, your spirit will go to the place of the dead ( spiritually dead).
So since Jesus became a sin, how did he become clean? His own blood washed him also in Heb 13:20 says ‘ Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant.’

The blood of Jesus is very precious indeed.

Today maybe you want to begin a relationship with God, Christ has paid for your sins and he has opened the door for us all to enter, will you come to him through the door? Jesus said in John 10:9 ‘ I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. ‘

A simple prayer like this can help:
Lord Jesus I come to you just as I am. I believe you died and paid for my sins. I believe you rose again and you are seated at the right hand of God. Please forgive me for all my wrong choices, be the Lord of my life and help me to live for you.
Amen 🙏
