Let’s focus our lives on Jesus.

In Matt 1:1-24 we read the list of Jesus’ ancestors and it is encouraging to see they include Tamar( the adulterers) Rahab ( the prostitute) Ruth ( the non Jewish Moabite) Solomon ( who was conceived after King Davids adulterous affair with Bathsheba) and many others.

Whatever your past life is, how broken it was or you are right now, God can use you.

The name of Jesus means’ saviour or ‘ he will save his people from THEIR sins’ Matt 1:21. Do you have a sin that weighs you down? That is a block between you and God and even prevents you from living a meaningful life? Jesus will save you from that sin. To save means to rescue. If there is a sin weighing you down, run to Jesus and he will forgive you and save you from it.

The greatest need of man is forgiveness. The Lord Jesus paid for our sins and he rescues from it grip.

Mental picture

I see someone chained with many chains of sin. Fornication, adultery, drugs, alcohol, gossip, prostitution but the Lord Jesus is rescuing that person by cutting the chains and freeing the person.

Gen 3:15b it cost Jesus his life to restore us back to God. It shows how important our relationship with God is. As we celebrate Easter, remember how much God loves you and love him back.

Shalom!
