Are you thirsty?

‘Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: (John 4:13, KJV)’.

Today, my question is ‘ are you thirsty?’ What are you using or have you been using to quench the thirst in your soul? The woman at the well was using the well to quench her thirst. Jesus made us to know what well it was. It was men. ‘Go call thy husband’ – that is where her problem was. She was drinking from the wrong source. No man can satisfy the thirst in our souls and no woman can too. Go and call thy husband- the Lord was making her know the source of her thirst and where she was drinking from. She had had five husbands and the one she was living with was not her husband.

The Lord told her’ Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: (John 4:13, KJV) We also sometimes quench our thirst for love, attention etc with men or women, drugs, alcohol, overworking etc

What solution did Jesus give to her that he is offering to us today? Drink from ‘my water’.

‘But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (John 4:14, KJV)

What did the woman do with the offer?

‘ The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. (John 4:15, KJV)

She accepted the offer. She asked for the water so that she doesn’t have to come again and also not thirst again.

What an encounter.

Today, we can also have the same encounter that will prevent us from drinking from whatever gives us a quick fix.

Just as the woman asked Jesus for the water so that she will not thirst and go to the well again, we can also ask the Lord for the same thing; and He will fill our hearts with His Spirit.

In John 7:37-39 ‘In the last day, that great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet [given]; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (John 7:37, KJV)’.

There is a thirst that no one can quench except the Lord. Whether you are married or not married. The thirst of the soul cannot be quenched by men.

Today ask Jesus to give you this water so that you will not thirst again and make it a habit to pray for the Holy Spirit daily. Luke 11:13

Let’s pray:

Father thank you for your word that has the power to save our souls . Father I thirst for love, please fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I will not quench my thirst in the wrong places.
