John 6: 27 TLB “ But you shouldn’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. No, spend your energy seeking the eternal life that I, the Messiah, can give you. For God the Father has sent me for this very purpose.”
Where is your focus? The people were fed the day before so they came seeking Jesus; and he knowing all things told them the truth about their motive for seeking him. Jesus replied, The truth of the matter is that you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you believe in me” John 6:26 TLB.
As a good shepherd, he then taught them what to focus on – ‘spend your energy seeking the eternal life that I, the son of man can give you”. John 6:27
The Lord is saying that , eternal life is not in any other apart from him.
Jesus once told the Pharisees that “You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!“ John 5:39 TLB.
There are people are looking for eternal life, but looking for it in all the wrong places. After telling the people to seek eternal life, He knew they will embark on a journey that will not lead to eternal life so He told them, eternal life is in Him. In John 14:6 the scriptures say that “Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me”.

Today, the Lord is beckoning us to spend our energies on seeking eternal life which is in Him.
If the Lord has said that we should seek eternal life and He is the one to give that life, how do we do that?
John 3:16 says “ For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life”.
3 “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: “(1 Corinthians 15:3-4KJV)
Believe in Jesus as said in Acts 16: 31 “They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”
Rom 10:9 says “9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. (Romans 10:9-10 KJV)
A prayer like this can help:
Father thank you for the cross, thank you for your love for me that made Jesus to die in my stead.
Lord Jesus I give my life to you, forgive me for all my wrong choices, come into my heart and wash me with your precious blood. Be the Lord of my life and help me to live a life that pleases you.
