Is it not wonderful to know that Jesus didn’t just attend church but he did something in the church? Let’s look at some of the things he did in church so that we can be encouraged to keep on doing something for the kingdom of God or start doing something for God’s glory.
Jesus read in church “And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.” (Luke 4:16, KJV)
He taught, “And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days”. (Luke 4:31, KJV)
He healed and cast out devils “ And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
34 Saying, Let [us] alone; what have we to do with thee, [thou] Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word [is] this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out. (Luke 4:33, KJV)
What do you also do in church or what has the Lord given to you to do here on earth? Eph 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.“
God has given each one of us something to do to glorify him, which will one day come to an end, when we rest from our labours. Rev 14:13 “And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. (Revelation 14:13, KJV)
There is a blessing for everyone that serves the Lord in Ex 23:25 “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee”.

Let’s pray 🙏
Thank you, Father, for your reminder about our purpose on earth. Please grant unto us your grace and mercy to do that which you have called us to and help us to finish it.
Amen 🙏
