John 2:2
โAnd both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.โ
It is amazing how we run from pillar to post looking for solutions and finding nothing. In many ways we are very much like Peter who went fishing all night and caught nothing, until Jesus appeared on the scene and directed him as to where to cast his net.
We cry, are depressed, get sad, engage in fights, etc when the word says in Phil 4:6 that โBe careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.โ
Jer 33:3 says โCall unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.โ
In whatever stage of life we find ourselves in, Jesus can still be invited.
Some people – like the couple having the wedding in Jn 2 – invite Jesus into their lives, projects etc at the beginning, whiles others call out to Him in times of trouble; like Mary and Martha sent for Jesus in John 11:3 when their brother Lazarus was sick.
Jesus can save us and help us any time we call on Him whether at the beginning, in the middle or at the end; but it will be wise to always call on Him at the beginning. The reason for this is that He can save us from a lot of troubles, hurts, pain, embarrassment etc.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says โ5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.โ
The above couple were wise in that, they invited Jesus for their wedding, and so when ‘trouble’ – (the wine got finished) – arose at the wedding, He was present to bring a solution by turning water into wine.
Inviting Jesus into our situations will bring us so much peace that will surpass our understanding.
