“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”(Psalms 91:1, KJV)
The secret place is a place of prayer , it is an unseen place where we commune with the Father.
“And now about prayer. When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I assure you, that is all the reward they will ever get.
Verse 6
But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father secretly. Then your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.

The one that is constantly or always talking to the father will have His presence and receive His protection.
‘ Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence.’ (Psalms 91:3)
