1 Peter 5:7-
âCasting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. â(1 Peter 5:7, KJV)
Many of us are looking for people who will just listen to us, talk to us or just to be interested in us; it is however quite difficult to find people like that. We tend to appreciate or even fall in love with people who just listen to or talk to us. I remember many years ago, I was admitted at the hospital and the doctors couldnât find what was wrong with me. My pulse was high and it looked like I was dying.
I had nurses and doctors come around to do their checks including a number of blood samples. I remember asking one of them whether she loved her profession and she said âOh yesâ. I was like wow, I canât see that. But there was a doctor who was very different, he was in my room all the time. Every time my eyes opened this doctor was there. Terry Macalmonâs worship songs was on repeat so my room was very anointed. I was thinking that the worship songs were possibly the reason why he was always here. He always talked to me, informing me as to what was happening, and took a lot of blood samples to do a series of tests, but all to no avail. One day, he told me it was his last day on duty and I remember he did everything he could to help me. I heard him give instructions as to what new check to do in my blood; and not long after, they found what was wrong with the correct medication being given to me.
I always remember this doctor and other such people in my life because they were there. Not doing anything in particular but showing an interest in me as a person.
Many people would come around because they want something from you, maybe money, contracts, sex, favours, etc for themselves, and are not really interested in you as a person. I speak to many people in relationships, and the common theme of what I hear is that my spouse doesnât care or I am lonely etc. We tend to have a lot of things on our heart that we would love to share with someone, but who is interested? And who can keep everything within themselves? We need people to interact with.
Well, I speak to the Lord about everything because I can be myself, and tell the Lord all that is on my heart. Unfiltered conversations are constantly going up. I share what is on my mind, what is lingering in my soul and what is on my heart. The effect is that it makes me very happy because I unload all my cares and worries to the Lord.
Why seek for attention from people who donât really care, but only show interest in you for a selfish reasons? Why donât we cast all, not some, but all our cares upon the Lord?
There is a cry in the heart of every soul looking for someone that cares, and the word of God says cast your care on him because he CARES. We have to receive this great silent voice of the scripture and start unloading our cares into him. Nothing is too much, he can bear them all.
âCasting all your care upon him.â
Letâs pray đ
Lord Jesus, I give you my heart, wash me with your blood and make me clean. Fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can lead a life that please you.
Amen đ
