John 6:5-6
“Jesus soon saw a great crowd of people climbing the hill, looking for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Philip, where can we buy bread to feed all these people?”
He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do.”
I think we all encounter difficult situations in our lives at different times. It could be having to feed hungry people when we do not have the means, counselling people who are in difficult situations, looking for money to pay a debt or something that is beyond our abilities. Everything that is impossible to man is possible with God.
In the passage above, to the disciples this was an impossible situation for even Philip said “Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little” (John 6:7, KJV) but the Lord had the answer. This shows that, in every impossible situation, Christ has the answer but the question is, are we close enough to hear the solution to the situation?
Sometimes the solution to our situation is near, but if the Lord does not tell us or show us, we can not even see. It could be something we despise, something unrelated or something too small, but the Lord can breathe upon it and bring the solution. “There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. (John 6:9-11KJV)
Let us bring our impossible situations to the Lord Jesus , stay close enough to hear the direction he gives, and do what he asks us to do.
“ Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”(Matt 19:26)
