The dictionary meaning for defile is to damage the purity of something. In Leviticus 18 , the Lord told his people to stay away from certain sins and in verse 24 told them not to defile themselves in any of the ways the inhabitants of the land they were going to, had โdefiled themselves.โ
In Mark 7 , the Lord Jesus again showed us what can defile us. โ20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.โ(Mark 7:20-23)
What is defiling you? What is taking away your purity? Do you want to stay in that condition or you want out? There is good news; and it is the blood of Jesus๐ช๐พ๐ฅ๐๐ฅณ๐. It cleanses us from all sins, not some but all ๐๐๐. โAnd he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world. โ1 John 2:2, KJV). The WORD also says that โ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:8-10). It is time to do some confessions to receive some cleansing. ๐
