Mark 7: 21-24

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:21, KJV)

Jesus said several things here, but we will focus on our connection with God. The Lord Jesus stated that some people will not be admitted into his kingdom since he does not know them. How can we get to know people? Reading about them (personal knowledge) and speaking with them constitutes a relationship. Now, how do we grow In our connection with God? James 4:8. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you….”

The closer we are to God through prayer, the stronger our relationship with him will be, and the less we communicate to God in prayer, the weaker our relationship with God will be. We can always measure our relationship with God by our prayer practice. Let’s always strive to develop a stronger relationship with God by developing a stronger prayer life.
