The Upside-Down Kingdom
(Matthew 5:3)
Jesus looked at the people around Him and
smiled. Then He said something surprising:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the
kingdom of heaven.”
Wait — poor in spirit? That means people who
know they need God. Not proud people. Not
perfect people. People who say, “God, I can’t do
this alone.”
Jesus was talking about a new kind of kingdom —God’s kingdom — where the weak are strong, the sad are comforted, and the humble are lifted up.
It’s not like any kingdom on earth. It’s upside
down!
In God’s kingdom, the first become last, and the
last become first. The proud miss it, but the
humble find it. Jesus says, “If you know you need
Me, you are blessed.”
This is the kind of heart Jesus looks for — not the
strongest or smartest, but the one that says,
“I need You, Lord.”
🧠 Think About It:
Have you ever needed help but were afraid to
ask?
🙏 Prayer:
Jesus, sometimes I try to do life on my own. Help
me be humble and trust You. I want to live in Your kingdom. Amen.

A Kingdom
