Scripture:
1 Kings 19:12 – “…and after the fire came a gentle whisper.”
Reflection:
Elijah expected God to reveal Himself in powerful ways, but instead, God spoke in a gentle whisper. Jesus often knocks quietly through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit brings to mind a verse, a gentle nudge to pray, or a reminder to turn away from something harmful. His whispers are easy to miss in the noise of life, but when we slow down and pay attention, we discover God is close. The more we practice listening, the more clearly we hear Him.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, help me notice Your whispers today. Teach me to be still so I don’t miss the gentle ways You speak to my heart. Amen.
Action Step:
Find five minutes of silence today. Sit quietly, ask the Holy Spirit to speak, and listen for His gentle whisper.”
