Why Jesus came

Scripture (NLT):
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” — John 3:16

Jesus did not come to start a religion or to impress people with miracles. He came because humanity was lost and broken, separated from God by sin. From the beginning, God’s desire was relationship—but sin damaged that connection. Jesus stepped into our world to restore what was broken.

For us today, life can feel overwhelming. There is pressure to succeed, to fit in, to look a certain way, and to have everything figured out. Jesus came into a world just as messy as ours and showed us that God is not distant or uninterested. He is loving, intentional, and willing to come close.

Jesus means that you are loved on purpose. God didn’t wait for you to be perfect before sending Jesus. He sent Him while humanity was still struggling, confused, and failing. That means your mistakes do not scare God away. Instead, they are the reason Jesus came.

Jesus also means a way forward. Through Him, forgiveness is possible, identity is restored, and eternal life is offered. Life with Jesus begins now, not someday in the future.

Reflection:
Do you believe that Jesus came personally for you—not just for the world, but for you?

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for coming because You love me. Help me understand Your purpose and open my heart to follow You. Amen.

The Amen 🙏
