“Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called Passover. And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill Him, for they feared the people. Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. And they were glad, and agreed to give him money. So he promised and sought opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude.”
Luke 22:1-6 NKJV
Judas went to the chief priest to betray Jesus ONLY when Satan entered into him. Woow. Before this time, Judas was working for God with Jesus, therefore we have to be mindful of our behaviours and see what spirit is behind it.
For instance, if we like to quarrel, we have to know that it is an evil spirit that insights us to do so. James 4:1-3 says “What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Isn’t it the whole army of evil desires at war within you?
You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous for what others have, and you cant possess it, so you fight and quarrel to take it away from them. And yet the reason you don’t have what you want is that you don’t ask God for it.
And even when you do ask, you don’t get it because your whole motive is wrong-you want only what will give you pleasure.”
We need to fight these evil tendencies in us and not to justify them else Satan will have a hold over us. James 3:17 says “But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.” Let’s measure our action by scriptures to see what spirit is behind the things we do and the words we say.
