John 3:16
‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’ (John 3:16, KJV)
Jesus was with the father so he knew the father very well and here, he is telling us that God loves us.
John 10:30
‘I and the Father are one.’
John 5:19-20
‘ Jesus gave them this answer: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.
For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these.’
People had not known God as loving.
I remember going for summer school as a teenager, and one of my male friends telling me about a guy I barely knew, who wanted me as his girlfriend. I knew this guy -who was not in my circle of friends – from afar as a bad boy who had many girlfriends.
I believed the message my friend delivered about the guy liking me because he had always told me the truth, and I had no reason to believe he was making this up.
I had not been present when he was being asked to relay the message, but I received it knowing my friend had been with this other guy.
So it is with God. Some of us know God as an angry being who is ready to pounce on us when we do wrong.
A being who doesn’t understand our feelings and our world, who is so wicked that he has prepared hell to burn us all, but bible says hell was prepared for Satan and his angels.
‘Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.’ Matthew 25:41
Jesus had been with the father and came from him and he is telling us that God loves us. He is giving us first hand information about the Father’s heart. He is saying behind the scene, ‘God loves you and I mean he loves you sooo much.’ What does it mean that God loves you? It means he doesn’t want you to be separated from him so he paid the ultimate price with his own blood.
Rom 5:7-8 says
‘For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.’
It means He will always lead you to truth for you to be set free. John 8:32 says ‘ And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
It means he will always send his servants to you, like you are reading my blog now so that you can understand Him and relate to Him the right way. Hos 4:6 says ‘My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.’
If God loves me, why do I go through bad things?
Jesus said in this world we will have tribulations but He had overcome the world,
John 16:33 says ‘ These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Have you heard of this phrase’ all things work for good….?
Seek Jesus in your sorrows, joy, troubled times and at all other times; because He loves you and is your peace. He is your way and your truth out of every situation.
Let’s pray 🙏
Father thank you that you love me. Please help me to live in your love.
Amen.
