Empty Worship

Empty Worship

“ ……This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;
7 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
8 You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.”
9 And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition!’ ( Mark 7;6-9).

Jesus teaches that worship is worthless (“in vain”) when people elevate human traditions above God’s Word, creating religion that looks holy on the outside but is disconnected from true obedience and devotion.

Can we identify some human traditions which is treated as divine authority? If that is all that we have, heaven has nothing in our names. We will go there Empty! We might not even make it there as seen in scriptures.
For example the Lord Jesus says we should love the Lord our God with all our hearts, and with all our souls, and with all our minds, and with all our strengths and to love our neighbours as ourselves. And that, there is “none other commandment greater than these”. (Mark 12:30-31KJV)
But how many people can testify that, some times, we have grudges in our hearts against people, some people don’t talk to others, others hate others, but still stand before God. Jesus calls that worship “Empty”. It is devoid of obedience to “ God’s commandments “.
Isaiah 58 is a book to read that also talks about true and false worship.

I was reading a book called “ The Revelations of Jesus and Heaven” by Rev Dr. Joseph Adjei where the Lady who saw the visions saw her Aunty who used to teach in the Sunday School and also take her to church in Hell and the Lord Jesus explained to her that her aunty though in the church did not serve him.
May the Lord help us to be True Believers .

The Lord Jesus said “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. (Matthew 7:21-25 KJV)

Going to church does not mean we worship God, according to the Lord Jesus. To Jesus, someone who worships God, is the one who keeps his words.

May the Lord help us and direct our hearts into his love! ( 2 Thess 3:5). Amen 🙏
